2020 Range Rover Sport HST Price, Release Date, Specs – The New upcoming 2020 Range Rover Sport HST edition is a new version for a medium-sized premium SUV. This model is placed between Velar and Range Rover. The new 2020 Range Rover Sport HST will surprise everyone with the performance offered by hybrid drivetrain. The rest of the ranks are also very interesting, starting with the SE and HSE trims. The hybrid plug-in setup is available for the second, as well as for Dynamic Autobiography. The top of the line version is the SVR with a V8 engine and a price tag above $ 110,000.
The new Range Rover Sport HST is electrifying the V6 engine that is currently available for this trim. Well, that would also raise prices to a level near the SVR. On the other hand, Range Rover Sport will get additional mileage by keeping other outputs at the same level. With this increase, SUVs become one of the most attractive vehicles for the following season. This is also a kind of response to the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE with hybrid drivetrain.
The new one will bring most of the standard features from the lower trim level. This version enhances the offer with a unique panoramic roof in contrasting colors. Also, outside the SUV you get LED lights and special DRL. 21-inch wheels are standard with 9 spokes and glossy upholstery. Through the fingers, you can see the red calipers which enhance the overall sporty impression.
Inside the 2020 Range Rover Sport HST we will find premium leather (Windsor) and unique stitches. Roll the same for the shift knob and steering wheel. Suedecloth is on the paddle shifters. Land Rover developed the new Touch Pro Duo system. The infotainment system will offer more features than before.
The 10 inch dual screen allows multiple interactions at once. Intelligent voice commands are part of this system. The entertaining service also offers Meridian surround audio with 19 speakers. Drivers can count on the help of special accessory packages. This will include the introduction of traffic signs, blind-spot warnings, and departure lane warnings. The HST trim level is also equipped with a Garden Package which carries a 360 degree camera and rear traffic monitor.
The 2020 Range Rover Sport HST will maintain the same 3.0 liter gasoline engine as the main power source. This engine is capable of producing 395 hours of torque and 406 lb-ft. Hybrid settings will not affect these numbers, although we estimate a slight boost to horsepower ratings. The top speed of the petrol unit is 140 mph.
HST hybrid offers the same max speed and acceleration up to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds. At the same time, the new drivetrain system will increase fuel savings. Without an electric battery, the Range Rover Sport HST returns 21 mpg for combination driving and up to 25 mpg for highway travel. Official results for the new hybrid HST have not yet been released, but we believe the consumption of urban drives will be much better.
The entry-level Range Rover Sport (SE and HSE) models use a 3.0 liter diesel engine. The V6 unit is capable of returning torque of 255 hp and 440 lb-ft. These figures are very good for towing capacities of around 6,000 pounds. The Range Rover already offers hybrids, but the P400 PHEV configuration combines electric drivetrain with a four-pot 2.0-liter unit.
This is good for 400 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque but fails in acceleration and top speed compared to the Range Rover Sport HST 2020. There are lighter settings for the 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine. For SE and HSE trims, this one is good for 355 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque and requires more than 6 seconds for 0-60 mph acceleration.
There are two drivetrains that go up with better numbers than HST. The first is the Range Rover Sport Autobiography Dynamic which uses a V8 unit. With 520 hp it can count on a maximum speed of 130 mph, but acceleration up to 60 mph requires 1 second less than a hybrid V6 setting. The other is SVR. Well, this one beat the 2020 Range Rover Sport HST in each segment. The highest speed is 176 mph and it takes 4.3 seconds for 0-60 mph. You will pay $ 10,000 more than this new HST and only produce a combined 16 mpg.
The non-hybrid edition of the 2020 Range Rover Sport HST will cost ‘only’ $ 85,000. For a medium size SUV, even though it’s a premium model, that’s too much. But, we are already familiar with JLR’s offers and luxury prices. The new hybrid setup, with all upgrades, will increase its price to $ 105,000.
That’s $ 10k less than the top of the range SVR unit. Even the supercharged Dynamic V8 Autobiography trim will be more affordable with a tag of $ 90,000. The entry-level Range Rover Sport SE will come with an MSRP of under $ 70,000.
